On the occasion, PU Vice Chancellor Dr Qibla Ayaz informed the US visiting delegation that around 2,000 students hailing from Federally Administrated Tribal Areas were studying in the varsity with nominal fees charges. Professor Qibla further said that varsity had keenly working on promotion of co-curricular activities as the best remedy for removal of psychological trauma in the war affected area. He informed that special diploma course had also been started in clinical psychology in the university.
"The journalism is not only a tough job, but also difficult under the prevailing circumstances," said US consul General Robert G Reed, while visited the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Tammy Paltchikov, the Public Affairs Officer of US Consulate informed that a sum of 10,000 dollars had allocated for the renovation the Lincoln's corner and work on the same would commence soon. The delegation also visited campus radio and the Peshawar University Broadcasting Academy at JMC.
